Pontoon Charter Terms
Before reserving a pontoon charter, please take some time to read our guidelines below. This will ensure you have an enjoyable experience on the water.
Waivers
Each and every person who will be on the pontoon boat during the scheduled charter time must sign a waiver.
The charter boat will be operated by our captain in accordance with Federal, State, and local laws, rules, and regulations including, but not limited to all laws regarding the use of alcohol and drugs.
Passenger Safety
Your safety is our main concern. Our boats are equiped with all of the safety equipment required by law including life vests, fire extinguisher, throwable life preservers, flares and sound making devices. For children,
we offer child-sized life vests upon request at no additional charge. Remember, children under 8 are required to wear a Coast Guard approved floatation device at all times and our captains will strictly enfore this rule
to ensure your child's safety.
You must adhere to all commands given to you by the captain of the boat. Failure to do so may result in your charter being cut short with you and your party being dropped off
at the nearest marina or having the authorities called on you.
As you can understand, Cappy's cannot be held responsible for things out of our control. Boating is an inherently dangerous activity and accidents may happen. While our captains will do their best to keep you and your family safe,
your safety while riding the boat, exiting/entering the boat, swimming or while visiting one of the charter's stops is your responsibility and will be done at your own risk.
Late Arrival & Cancellation Policy
Please arrive for your charter 30 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time to ensure the entire charter time is enjoyed by everyone. Charter start times cannot be extended due to late arrivals and late arrivals may be left at the dock with no refunds provided.
A confirmed reservation will hold your charter up until the scheduled departure time, after which you will be considered a "No Show" and the entire reservation fee will be forfeited.
Inclement Weather Policy
If we are forced to cancel a charter due to weather or any other reason, we will do our best to notify you as soon as possible. However, there may be times where a cancellation will be made at the last minute. In these cases,
Cappy's cannot be held responsible for any travel-related expenses you may incur. In the case of a cancellation, you may move your reservation to another charter or may request a refund.
If there are inclement weather conditions, guests can move their reservation to another day during the current season.
Inclement weather is defined by the National Weather Service as high winds, lighting or thunder. Cappy's will determine the weather safety at our marina. If the weather turns severe
while we are on the water, we will seek shelter immediately in a safe place or protected shoreline where we can anchor or dock the boat. The weather in Alabama can turn bad quickly but luckily, it usually
only lasts for a little while. It is advisable to bring a change of clothes and/or something to protect you from rain.
Personal Belongings
There is a limited amount of storage on a pontoon boat so please, limit the amount of personal belongings you bring to the charter. A beach bag or similar sized carry on is all we can accommodate. Our charters only last
a few hours so excessive baggage is unnecessary and our captains will make the final determination on whether or not there is room for your belongings.
Payment
To reserve your charter, full payment is taken at the time of your reservation. Any damages or violations of the contract during the charter will lead to additional charges.
Tipping
While tips are definitely not required, our captains work hard for your safety and enjoyment. If you are satisfied with your experience on the lake, they would definitely appreciate your gratuities. If not, please feel free
to let us know here so we can improve.
Littering
No trash or litter should be thrown from the boat. All trash must be secured within the pontoon boat to keep it from accidentally falling into the water.
Upon return, all trash must be removed from boat and placed in the appropriate trash or recycling receptacles.
Damages
The person making the charter reservation is responsible for all damages incurred during the charter by a member of their party.
